Did you know that there is a guy in Florida who seized a hideous floating trash pile in the ocean that was stuck together and then made it his island and even built a house on it. Now he owns an island and the authorities want him to get a vessel license for it? He then perhaps can use it as his official address. But that makes his island US Territory. And did we mention property taxes to the State of Florida?

If he keeps the trash island off the coast then indeed it is in International Waters, being a US Citizen he has automatic rights, but if his island is a vessel then there are use tax issues all property tax issues all for a boat load of trash? What a dilemma indeed. At least one person has come up with another issue.
